Located along the Gulf Coast shoreline, Biloxi Beach is a long and popular white-sand beach with multiple breakwaters in the city of Biloxi.  The eastern part of this beach is called Biloxi East Beach.  In addition, two other parts of this beach are also known as Biloxi West Central Beach and Biloxi Porter Avenue Beach.

Time Out New Orleans listed Biloxi Mississippi Beach as one of the “10 Best New Orleans Beaches That Are a Short Drive Away” in 2024 and Reader’s Digest listed this beach in its article “20 Best Cheap Beach Vacations for Fun in the Sun.”  According to an online article by the Southern Living magazine, this beautiful beach has the whitest sand in Mississippi.

If you are looking for a restaurant near Biloxi Beach, there are many great nearby options.   Shaggy’s Biloxi Beach has a fun ambiance and it offers amazing seafood, Southern-style cuisine, burgers, sandwiches, wraps, tacos, flatbreads, and salads.  Mary Mahoney’s is an upscale restaurant that offers delicious gourmet dishes for lunch and dinner including soup, seafood, steaks, poultry dishes, pork chops, and Southern-style dishes – it was praised by the Forbes magazine.  Half Shell Oyster House is known for serving amazing Southern-style dishes with culinary influences from New Orleans including catfish lameuse, po-boy sandwiches, pasta, steak, and chicken dishes.  Snappers Seafood is known for serving delicious seafood for lunch and dinner, along with a variety of other dishes including tacos, pancakes, steaks, wraps, and po-boy sandwiches.  If you are looking for another good and affordable restaurant nearby, Meatbawl’s Food Truck is a food truck that serves many delicious dishes including jerk chicken, Caribbean-inspired pasta, curried chicken, and roasted oxtail.  The Project Lounge is another modestly priced restaurant that serves amazing sandwiches, salads, burgers, and hot dogs.

If you are looking for a hotel near Biloxi Beach, there are many great Biloxi Beach hotels nearby.  The 4-Star Beau Rivage Resort & Casino offers many amenities including a spa, a salon, fitness center, a casino, a pool, multiple restaurants and bars, shopping stores, and an arcade.  The 4-Star Hard Rock Hotel and Casino Biloxi offers many amenities including multiple bars and restaurants and live music, a spa, a gym, a pool, multiple hot tubs, a steam room, a shopping store, poolside cabanas, and a casino.  Another great hotel is the 3.5-Star Hilton Garden Inn Biloxi Hotel  that offers many amenities including a restaurant, a fitness center, and a pool.  A more affordable hotel is the 3-Star White House Hotel that offers many amenities including a pool, a hot tub, a sundeck, a terrace, a gym, a restaurant, and a bar.  Another great moderately priced hotel is the 3-Star Margaritaville Resort Biloxi.  If you are looking for another good and affordable nearby hotel, the 3-Star Hyatt Place Biloxi offers many amenities including a cafe, a fitness room, a snacks shop, a pool, and a sundeck.

Although Biloxi Beach has lifeguard towers, please note that lifeguard deployment here may be seasonal and the lifeguards here patrol only certain portions of this long beach.  In addition to lifeguards, this beach also has many other amenities including restrooms, barbecues, walkways, showers, vending machines, multiple piers, volleyball courts, and rental facilities for beach chairs, beach umbrellas, and watersports equipment.

Please note that most of the beach’s amenities are only available within a few of its parts – these parts are located near Beach Boulevard’s intersection with Rodenberg Avenue and near 2350 Beach Boulevard.

Pets are not allowed on Biloxi Beach.

Biloxi Beach offers many fun activities including sunbathing, beachcombing, swimming, boogie boarding, paddleboarding, fishing, kayaking, kitesurfing, windsurfing, volleyball, canoeing, snorkeling, surf-skiing, jet-skiing, water-skiing, parasailing, boating, kayaking, canoeing, and wildlife watching.

This beach is ideal for beginner swimmers and paddle boarders because the water here is calm and shallow.  If you plan to swim, kayak, or canoe here, we recommend being careful because the water here can have unpredictable rip currents and dangerous waves.  In addition, the water here can also sometimes be dirty.

If you like fishing, Biloxi Beach has multiple piers that are ideal for fishing including the Biloxi Lighthouse Pier (which is currently undergoing repairs) and the Coliseum Pier – you can catch many fish varieties here including croaker, tarpon, and Spanish Mackerel.  If you like birdwatching, you can view many kinds of birds around this beach including oystercatchers, skimmers, and turnstones – in addition to birds, sea turtles also use this beach as a seasonal nesting site.  If you like taking Biloxi Beach photos with beautiful views, this beach offers Instagram-worthy views of the Mississippi Sound, the Mississippi Gulf Coast shoreline, and the nearby barrier islands including Ship Island and Cat Island.

If you are planning to organize a bonfire at this beach, you need a permit from the local authorities – you can contact the Harrison County Sand Beach Authority at (228) 896-0055 for more information regarding the permit rules and regulations.

While Biloxi Beach itself does not offer any wheelchair access, this beach has a few nearby wheelchair-friendly walkways for disabled visitors.

Getting to Biloxi Beach is easy – this beach is located along Beach Boulevard, which is a part of United States Highway 90.  There are multiple entrances for this beach, with multiple nearby free parking lots – there is a free parking lot near the Biloxi Lighthouse, which is located near 1050 Beach Boulevard.  In addition, you can also park at a free parking lot adjacent to Snapper’s Seafood Restaurant, which is located near 1699 Beach Boulevard.  There is another small free parking lot for the beach at the Treasure Bay Casino Hotel near 1980 Beach Boulevard.

We recommend visiting the beach early during summers because it can get crowded during this time.

Biloxi Beach was the site of historic protest movements called the “Biloxi Wade-ins” between 1959 and 1963 – these protests were organized against the segregation of local beaches and you can see a historical marker related to these protests on the beach.  Biloxi Beach is a man made beach that was created in the 1950s as part of a larger seawall construction project to control local erosion.

There are many attractions near Biloxi Beach around the cities of Biloxi and Gulfport.  There is a popular lighthouse adjacent to the beach named Biloxi Lighthouse – this cast iron lighthouse was initially built in 1848 and it is considered to be one of Biloxi’s most iconic landmarks.  This lighthouse is known to have been managed by female lighthouse keepers for more years than any other American lighthouse – in addition, there is also a park nearby that has a playground, native plants, and a pavilion.  The Mississippi Coast Coliseum is a large multi-purpose arena that hosts many thrilling sporting competitions and events – it also hosts many other events including circuses, festivals, theatrical performances, and performances by esteemed artists including Elton John and Cher.  If you are interested in history, the Beauvoir estate is a 19th-century mansion that served as the home of Confederate leader Jefferson Davis in the post-Civil War-era – Beauvoir’s premises also have gardens, memorials, a gift shop, and walking paths, along with a cemetery for Confederate veterans.  This house offers an interesting insight into the history of Biloxi and the Southern United States.  The Maritime & Seafood Industry Museum offers information about the maritime history of Biloxi and the Mississippi Gulf Coast region, along with exhibits on the evolution of the local shrimping and fishing industry.  In addition, the museum also has a theater, an art gallery, and research library.  Hard Rock Casino is a popular casino that offers many fun games including slot machines, blackjack, roulette, baccarat, and pai gow.  If you are looking for another attraction near the beach, Biloxi Visitors Center is a visitor center that offers helpful tourism-related information to Biloxi’s visitors – this center also functions as a museum and has exhibits offering information on Biloxi’s vibrant history, economy, and culture.  The center also has a movie theater and it also offers amazing views of the Biloxi coastline.
