Located in the town of Waimea, Lapakahi State Historical Park has a small, narrow, and rocky beach that is situated in front of the Lapakahi Marine Life Conservation District. Spread across 2,560 acres, Lapakahi State Historical Park contains ruins from an ancient Hawaiian fishing village. Beachgoers can learn about traditional Hawaiian culture by taking the Lapakahi State Historical Park Trail – a one-mile-long trail that passes through many ancient structures and artifacts including house sites, canoe storage houses, salt-making pans, and kukui nut lampstands.
