Located on the southeastern coast of La Digue Island in the Seychelles, Grand Anse Beach is a 450-meter-long and 20-meter-wide extremely popular white sand beach with unique rocky formations.  The beach has a spectacular backdrop of dense vegetation with tall palm trees, a restaurant, a beach bar, and gigantic granite boulders at both ends of the beach, adding allure to its beauty, which together provide Instagram-worthy views of the Indian Ocean.

If you get hungry, there are many restaurants near Grand Anse Beach.  Mimi's Cafe serves salads, sandwiches, omelets, seafood, meat, and poultry dishes.  Chez Jules Restaurant serves amazing traditional creole curries, seafood, beef, meat, and poultry dishes.     Le Repaire - Boutique Hotel & Restaurant serves incredible seafood, poultry, and meat dishes.  Robinson Crusoe Bar serves amazing juices, shakes, and fruit salads.  If you are looking for another good and affordable nearby restaurant, Rey & Josh Cafe Takeaway serves amazing salads, sandwiches, seafood, meat, and poultry dishes.

Grand Anse Beach does not have lifeguards but offers several amenities including a restroom, a restaurant, a beach bar, and a few shady areas.

Grand Anse Beach offers many fun activities, including swimming, sunbathing, beachcombing, surfing, photography, biking, picnicking, and hiking.  If you are planning to go into the water, we recommend being cautious, as the water is known to have deep water and unpredictable rip currents.  The currents are powerful enough to carry you out to sea, and the water may be equally turbulent, particularly during the south-east trade winds.  It is worth noting that swimming can be dangerous on this beach, as the water gradually becomes very deep and there is no protection from the coral reef.  If you like surfing, the beach offers amazing opportunities for surfers due to the frequent windy weather.  Hikers can enjoy the nearby hiking trails, which offer unique insights into the local biodiversity.  If you enjoy photography, the Instagram-worthy views of the beach make it a photographer's delight.  The beach is ideal for visitors looking for a tranquil beach experience as this beach sees fewer visitors than nearby beaches.  Also, riding bicycles is a popular mode of transportation around the island, allowing visitors to experience the calm surroundings at their own pace.  Dogs are not allowed on the beach, and the beach is open from sunrise until sunset.

Grand Anse Beach offers an access path for people with disabilities.

It is important to note that visitors can access La Digue Island by ferry.  If you are traveling from Praslin, you can book a ferry that departs from Baie Sainte Anne, takes around 20 minutes to reach the La Passe ferry terminal on La Digue Island, and costs 15 euros per person.  There are multiple ferry crossings between the islands throughout the day.

The Seychelles International Airport (SIA) is the main airport of the Seychelles Islands, located on Mahe Island.  From there, visitors have to take a ferry to access La Digue Island.  If you are traveling from Mahe, you can book a ferry that takes one hour and fifteen minutes to Praslin before connecting to La Digue.

Getting to Grand Anse Beach Seychelles is easy - the beach is located near Dan Zoranz Self Catering Guest House, Seychelles, which provides easy access to the beach.  Visitors have to hike 500 meters in the west from the main road to access this beach.

Grand Anse is best described as a "wild" beach, yet it's still worth visiting for its remarkable sandy surface and spectacular surroundings.

There are many attractions near Grand Anse Beach.  L'Union Estate is a historical plantation estate that includes a coconut plantation, a vanilla plantation, and a giant tortoise pen.  It offers an interesting glimpse into the island’s agricultural heritage and the colonial past of the Seychelles.  In addition, the estate is also home to iconic granite boulders and several nature trails, offering incredible views and photo opportunities.  The Veuve Nature Reserve, also known as the La Digue Veuve Reserve, is a small reserve that plays a crucial role in the conservation of the endangered Seychelles Black Paradise Flycatcher, locally known as "Veuve."  Visitors can enjoy interesting guided tours that provide unique insights into the native biodiversity, the behavior of the Black Paradise Flycatcher, and the conservation initiatives being undertaken.

La Passe is a small village on the northern end of La Digue that offers unique insight into the rich cultural heritage and traditional lifestyle of Creole people.  Visitors can explore bustling markets, savor traditional seafood dishes, rent bicycles, go diving and snorkeling excursions, go on boat tours and fishing trips, and learn about the island's rich history and customs.  In addition, it is home to a ferry terminal that connects La Digue with Praslin and Mahe, the two other main islands in the Seychelles.  Nid d'Aigle, also known as the Eagle's Nest, is a popular but moderately challenging hiking trail that leads to the highest peak on La Digue Island, which is a 333-meter-high mountain.  The trail meanders through lush forests, areas with endemic plant species, and iconic granite boulders, which together offer breathtaking views of the neighboring islands and the vast Indian Ocean.  If you are looking for another nearby attraction, Anse Severe is a famous snorkeling spot where snorkelers can experience the rich marine biodiversity of the region, including vibrant coral reefs, various species of tropical fish, sea turtles, and rays in its calm waters.  It is an ideal destination for both novice and experienced snorkelers.
